What can we help you with?
Do I have a membership to the UND Wellness Center?
All UND students, faculty, and staff, along with associates, may join the UND Wellness Center. As a member, you will have the opportunity to sponsor other people.
For UND students, their memberships are covered by the mandatory student fees paid each semester and is active when they are enrolled in classes. UND student ID cards are also their membership cards for students.
A UND ID card or a Wellness Center ID card is required at all times in order to enter the facility. For more information on membership eligibility, please visit the Membership Rates page.
Can I bring guests with me to work out who don't have memberships?
Yes, guests (family members, friends, etc.) may purchase a day pass for $5 at the welcome desk. In order to use the facility, guests must be 18 years or older and be sponsored by a current wellness center member.
All guests must sign a waiver of liability before they will be allowed to use the wellness center and they must be accompanied by their sponsoring member each time they purchase a day pass.

Does the UND Wellness Center have a pool?
No, the wellness center does not have a pool, but there is one located in the Hyslop Sports Center.
The contract with UND Athletics for free pool usage for staff, faculty and students ended June 30, 2016. Swim punch cards can be purchased at the pool deck. Punch cards are $30 for 10 visit punch card. Swim hours are open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 11:00 am-1:00pm and Tuesday from 7:30pm-9:00pm.

How can I get a job at the UND Wellness Center?

Are there lockers available for me to use at the facility?
Yes, the wellness center has two types of lockers for members to use: Day-Use Lockers (free) and Rental Lockers.
Day-use lockers are located on the first and second floors of the facility and are also available in both the men's and women's locker rooms. They are free as long as all belongings are removed by the end of the day. Rental lockers are available in two sizes – half or full. These lockers are located in both the men's and women's locker rooms.

Can you rent space at the UND Wellness Center for a group or club?
Yes, the wellness center has a variety of spaces available to rent. If you are a Recognized Student Organization at UND and are in good standing, you can rent certain areas of the facility at no charge (certain restrictions do apply).

What is the Culinary Corner at the UND Wellness Center?
The Culinary Corner is a demonstration kitchen that provides free and fee-based cooking classes. The cooking classes are available most days during the week. Classes are led by student instructors, UND nutrition students, and guest chefs from local restaurants. All classes provide participants with a chance to learn about new recipes, health benefits, and great-tasting foods. For upcoming events, please view the Culinary Corner calendar.
Where is the Culinary Corner located?
The Culinary Corner demonstration kitchen is located on the main level of the wellness center near the classrooms and quiet lounge in the south corner of the facility. Just follow your nose!
Are there any free cooking classes?
Yes, there is one free cooking class offered each week called Cheap, Fast, and Healthy. The class shows you how to make a quick and easy meal that can be prepared and consumed in just 30 minutes! This class is offered on Wednesday nights at 5:30pm.
How do I register for a cooking class?
Go to the Culinary Corner calendar and click on the class you would like to register for. All of the information you will need can be found on the class description page. Registration and payment can be made online or in person at the wellness center.

How many laps around the track equals one mile?
It takes approximately 8 laps around the track to complete one mile depending on which lane is used.
• Inside Lane = 8.5 laps per mile
• Middle Lane = 8.3 laps per mile
• Outside Lane = 8 laps per mile
The track direction switches each day so please look at the signs located near the track to see which way members should run/walk.
How much does it cost to attend group exercise classes?
Individual Group Exercise classes cost $3 each or there is an unlimited pass option for $35 for the entire semester. Each semester their will be a select number of free classes available. To see the next free classes - please visit the Group Exercise information page.
Do you offer personal training packages and if so, what are my options?
Yes, we offer personal training packages. There are many packages to choose from depending on what you are looking for. Schedule your free goal consultation today by calling 777-3417 to talk about your goals and decide which package is best for you based on those goals.
Is there a fee associated with personal training sessions?
Yes, the wellness center personal trainers are nationally certified and they are ready to develop an exercise program specifically for you! Prices vary depending on which package you choose. Please visit the Personal Training Information page for all the details
Do you offer any fitness services that are free to students?
Yes, we offer several fitness services for wellness center members. The services that are offered at no charge are:
• Strength Tests
• Intro to Weight Training
• Standard Fitness Assessments
• Equipment Orientations
• Skinfold Body Composition Assessments.

I am new to weight lifting. Are there certain machines that I can start on? Can someone show me how to use them?
Yes, we have the weight floor divided into three levels of weight lifting. We also have a circuit deck which allows you to get a full workout in 15 to 30 minutes. Our Fitness Experience staff can also assist you by showing you how to operate each machine.
Can I perform Olympic or powerlifting exercises at the wellness center?
Most Olympic and powerlifting exercises are not permitted at the wellness center. Speak with a Fitness Experience staff member to find out which lifts are acceptable.
What sports does the UND intramural program offer?
The UND intramural program offers a variety of sports throughout the year, such as flag football, volleyball, basketball, ice hockey, and indoor soccer. For a complete list of sports, please visit the Intramural Program page.
How do I sign up for intramurals?
UND students can sign up and create a team using IMLeagues. If you do not a have a team, you can sign up as a free agent which makes your interest in a sport known to teams that might be looking for players. Signing up as a free agent does NOT guarantee that you will find a team.
Where can I find the schedules and rules for intramural sports this semester?
The semester schedule for registration and league dates can be found on the Intramural Program page and on IMLeagues. The intramural program handbook and rules for each sport can be found on the Intramural Program page. Game schedules can be found on IMLeagues.
How much does it cost to create a team for UND intramurals?
The prices for each individual sport are listed on the Intramural Program page, but prices normally range from $85-$120 per team, with the exception of ice hockey.
Where do intramurals take place?
Most sports take place at the wellness center or at the Hyslop Sports Center. Flag football takes place on the aerospace fields and ice hockey takes place at Ralph Engelstad Arena.

How much does it cost to use the rock wall?
It is free! The rock wall is available to all UND students, faculty, staff, and wellness center members at no extra charge. Some programs/events, as well as belay training, do have a cost associated with them.
Do I need any climbing experience to use the rock wall?
No climbing experience is necessary to use the rock wall! The rock wall is a great place to learn climbing skills. Belay classes and other climbing classes are available to wellness center members throughout the academic year. All rock wall attendants have climbing experience and can answer most of the questions new climbers may have.

What is the Outpost and where is it located?
The Outpost is a program where UND students, faculty, staff, and the general public can rent outdoor adventure equipment for a small fee. It is located in the atrium of the UND Wellness Center.
What kind of equipment does the Outpost have?
The Outpost has a variety of outdoor adventure equipment available to rent, such as canoes, kayaks, tents, bikes, and cooking gear. A full list of equipment can be found on the Outpost page.
Where can I take the equipment that I rent?
You can take the equipment anywhere you would like as long as you can safely secure and transport it. Please be aware of any state and/or local laws regarding equipment, such as boating laws or bike helmet requirements. All equipment should be returned in good condition and clean (no dirty dishes or muddy life jackets).
