The majority of UND websites use OmniUpdate (OU), the campus-supported content management system. However, some UND websites still use old server technology to update and manage their sites that is not reliable or maintainable, and cannot be supported moving forward. This includes all sites that are updated and managed with a FTP connection to oldwww.UND.edu, or that begin with one of the following:
All sites using the old server technology will be affected as follows:
- October 31, 2017 – oldwww.UND.edu server decommissioned. Websites will remain viewable from the Internet, but users will no longer be able to access them for modifications.
- November 30, 2017 – oldwww server will be decommissioned completely, and no data will be retained.
- December 31, 2017 – All websites will be removed from the public web server and will no longer be viewable from the Internet.
The site owner is responsible for taking action on their site. All sites must be hosted and managed in accordance to the UND Website Policy. Action may include creating a new site in the appropriate system, transferring content to a new hosting solution, archiving, or shutting down the site. Data on the old server will not be saved.

Accessing Sites on oldwww.UND.edu
To access your site on oldwww.UND.edu, all users need to request and set up VPN access. To request VPN access, please submit a request with "oldwww VPN setup" as the description, and include the site URL and your NDUS Account (NDUS.Identifier) username.
Passwords can no longer be reset. If you do not have the password for your site, a zip file export can be created. To request a zip file, submit a request with "oldwww export: " in the description and include the site URL.
