Unmanned and autonomous systems, as evolving and innovative technologies, are related to many public policy issues. Entrepreneurs are populating the systems and products related to these systems, and they are import- ant stakeholders in the evolving regulatory structures. Policy issues are also closely linked to other focus areas described above, and involve all branches and levels of government. Regulation related to unmanned and autonomous systems is therefore arising in disparate organizational, jurisdictional, and agency settings, from federal agencies like the Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the Department of Defense, to municipal law enforcement agencies. With its long history with unmanned systems, UND is a natural policy leader. Please think about how your research impacts or fits with Policy.
