2017 Ken & Toby Baker UND Proud Award
The Ken & Toby Baker UND Proud Award, along with $1,000, is presented to a UND staff employee who, through extraordinary public service, has made lasting contributions to the external community, over and above the expectations of his or her regular University position.

This year’s award winner is not only heavily involved in life at the University of North Dakota but has spread their talents to various Grand Forks community organizations as well. They continually look for ways of how they can serve the Greater Grand Forks community in addition to their exceptional work at the University of North Dakota. They have served in leadership capacities for many committees and boards for their local church. They are a current member of the Greater Grand Forks/East Grand Forks & Area Campaign committee as well as a member of the Greater Grand Forks Convention and Visitor’s Bureau Board of Directors. Additionally, they have voluntarily served as the United Way Campaign Cabinet’s University of North Dakota Coordinator since 2013. In the five years they have volunteered for United Way, they have lead efforts to raise $410,395 in voluntary contributions from staff and faculty. They serve as a liaison between UND leadership and the community through United Way. They have increased awareness of the United Way organization on campus, utilizing various medias and participation of UND volunteers.
