To register with DSS, students must be admitted to UND and have a disability, which is a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits a major life activity, such as hearing, seeing, speaking, breathing, performing manual tasks, walking, caring for oneself, learning or working. Contact DSS to schedule an appointment with a Disability Access Specialist for more information or to help you start the registration process.
Submit documentation to establish your disability. We recommend you ask a professional who knows how your disability affects you to complete the Request for Documentation form. This person could be a diagnosing or treating professional, a Special Educator or a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor.
Discuss how your disability affects you in the classroom and determine what is appropriate for your access needs with a Disability Access Specialist.
