In order to have a good mentoring partnership you need to have effective learning. Research has shown that the best learning occurs when there is a combination of acquiring knowledge, applying it through practice, and critically reflecting on the process. A good mentoring partnership occurs when both the mentor and mentee have created a learning partnership. This happens when you work collaboratively with your partner on achieving each other's defined goals that focus on developing one's skills, abilities, knowledge, and thinking.
